Progress?!

It feels strange to be writing about progress at a time like this, when I barely know what the next twenty-four hours holds, let alone the next few days, weeks, or months. But! Despite everything going on right now:

I’m published!

(Though I wasn’t when I first published this in March, this is September me editing.)

Kind of. Temporarily. In Rune Bear‘s quarterly drabble contest! Read my winning entry “Take Flight” here!

I didn’t know what a drabble was, either, before I wrote one. A drabble is a 100 word story.

How does one tell a story in 100 words? I’m still not sure I know, but, please let me know how I did!

All competition entries to Rune Bear’s Quarterly contest are published on their website throughout the reading period. Once the contest closes, the winning entry is published online. September Edit: The Fall 2020 Quarterly contest is now ongoing. You can submit your 100-word drabbles here!

If you’re on the fence at all about submitting: you already know what I’m going to say: Do it! I had a lot of fun tinkering with my 100 words. It was an engaging way to force myself to make every word count to evoke exactly what I wanted.

That’s all I have for you today, strangers. Honest. It’s not like the first draft of this week’s post was a rambling stream of conscious entry about our current nightmare scenario, nope. Definitely not.

But. That said.

Wash your hands. Stay Home. Listen to Doctors. Be kind. Be generous where you can for your circumstances. And if you need to shout into the void, or feel a little closer to another human, I’m ready to listen.
