Started: 8 June 2020
Finished: 10 June 2020
Sometimes, words do more than jump off the page. Sometimes, they pull you headfirst into a story and submerge you in a world not your own, but this world screams truth and pain and trauma and loss and joy and beauty at you with every line. N.K. Jemisin is a master. Truly, if you’ve stumbled onto this reading log and haven’t read her, get ye to a book acquiring facility and READ HER. YESTERDAY.
(Author’s note from the future: I feel like I should have had more thoughts about this novel; but, I know the truth of it was I was so enthralled I needed to start reading book 2 at the expense of everything else. Besides, The Fifth Season isn’t a book you should read about. It is a book you must read.)
